Most back, hip and knee pain arises from abnormal foot posture. This is because these regions connect through the feet and when the feet are aligned properly, the foundation of the body is in the correct posture. Foot posture is determined by the arch of the foot. A high arch causes you to walk on the outside of the feet and it will rotate the knee outwards, causing bow legs. A low arch causes you to walk on the inside of the feet and it will rotate the knee inwards, causing knock knees.

Both conditions cause over-rotation of the knee and the hip as well as abnormal back posture. Left over time, these areas respond with subluxations, pain, disability and possibly arthritic change due to degeneration of cartilage.
Orthotics support the feet in their correct posture, eliminating the pressure and pain caused by abnormal feet and will allow your adjustments to hold better, improving posture throughout the entire body.
